Love Aroma Christmas Collection

I have done a post on Love Aroma before (http://thekatspaws.com/2014/07/28/love-aroma-candles/) and wanted to show you a couple of their Christmas releases. I think Love Aroma is such a fab company…they sell candles and other home fragrances and when you receive your goods, they come beautifully packaged and are even scented with fragrance (there is even a card telling you what fragrance your package is scented with!). Here are a few of my favourites…

The Scented Home Warm Winter Punch Scented Pomander by Ashleigh & Burwood £9.99

FullSizeRender-211

If I had to package a scent up and call it Christmas, this scent would so be it! It has hints of Orange, Cinnamon, Clove and Black Pepper and smells so so amazing, I wish I had a smell-o-blog and you could actually smell it as it truly is that gorgeous. The metal pomander has cute little stars cut out of it and is sealed with a cream bow ribbon, which you can also use to hang the pomander up.

FullSizeRender-212

The pomander contains fragranced wooden balls, but these can be taken out and replaced with new ones when the fragrance runs out, usually after around three months. It is such a warming, comforting fragrance and would be a perfect gift as it comes wonderfully packaged in a gift box. If you can’t bare to part with it, the pomander will look beautiful hung on your Christmas tree or around the home.

Stoneglow Winter Snow Topped Candle Tin £9

Argghhhh this is super pretty! This stunning candle is adorned with snowflakes on the outside of the tin and once inside you will see a gorgeous snowy scene, created from wax, with lots of sparkle (which unfortunately you cannot see in my picture as I only have a camera phone and not some amazing kick-ass camera – Santa please?).

FullSizeRender-210

I don’t know how it is done, but the top of the candle really looks and feels like crumbling snow. It has a burn time of around 30 hours, which is amazing for quite a small tin. The scent combines indulgent, sensual sandalwood and exotic amber enriched with creamy vanilla and rich balsamic notes and is truly sensational. I definitely cannot choose whether this is my favourite scent or the Pomander is. They are both totally different but equally as festive. Again, this would make another gorgeous gift, either for yourself or a loved one.

Lily Flame Foodie Mini Tins £18

FullSizeRender-208FullSizeRender-209

I have had Lily Flame candles before and I love them, the scents are gorgeous and so different to many other candle brands around. This little set contains three mini tins, and includes the fragrance Mellow Figs & Garden Mint which smells incredibly light and fresh and not at all ‘minty’ in the Polo sense.

FullSizeRender-206FullSizeRender-205

The next fragrance is Pink Grapefruit which is totally refreshing and zingy and lastly Mango Fandango (love the name!) which is sweetly scented and does smell of mango but also has a hint of something else, which uselessly I am not sure what it is haha!

FullSizeRender-203

This is a great little set perfect for teenagers or friends and can also be taken away with you as they are the perfect travel sized tins.

What are your favourite festive scents?

Love Aroma Candles

I recently discovered www.lovearoma.co.uk which is a website that sells some gorgeous scented products for the home including candles, reed diffusers, wax melters and more. Here are a couple of candles that I tried out.

Lily Flame Fairy Dust Candle £8.50

I recently discovered the Fairy Dust scent in a local garden centre and fell in love with it straightaway. It is definitely a girly scent, really sweet, pretty and light.

 fairy lid

The candle comes in a little round tin with a detachable lid and is cream in colour with white and pink decoration. The candle lasts around 30-35 hours, which I was surprised at as it is quite a small candle.

 fair main

Once lit, the fragrance freshens up the room and I found that the scent lingered after for the rest of the evening, which I loved as some candles can barely be smelt when lit, nevermind afterwards.

 fairy main

The Lily Flame range also includes room sprays and so this may well be my next purchase.

Durance Linen Flower Candle £12.95

Before discovering Love Aroma, I had never heard of Durance candles, and I found out that they also produce reed diffusers and room sprays and come in lots of gorgeous fragrances. The scent I tried out was Linen Flower.

 durance main

Durance candles are all handcrafted and made in France, with a burn duration of around 40 hours. The packaging is simple but effective, and consists of a plain glass holder, wrapped in corrugated card, a straw ribbon and a little cream card label on the front.

 durance top

As all of the Durance range are quite neutral looking colours, they are perfect for any room and are adorable as gifts. The scent of the candle is really light but uplifting and fresh, and doesn’t necessarily remind me of linen, but there is definitely a gorgeous floral scent in there, that is a little woodier than for example a rose floral fragrance.

 durance label

As with the Lily Flame candle, the fragrance could be smelt throughout the day after I had lit it in the morning and kept my room smelling clean and fresh.

Flamingo Gifts

I recently came across Flamingo Gifts when I was searching for their fabulous Flamingo Candles – I expected just a website that sold candles and the likes, but in reality I got a whole lot more. There are so many stunning and unusual gifts at fabulous prices, with something for everyone. I thought I would share with you what I chose…

Hello Kitty Travel Toothbrush and Comb £2.31

hk closed

I visit my boyfriend James every weekend, and he lives in Bourne, about 90 miles away from me, therefore it is a necessity for me to have plenty of travel items that I can keep in my suitcase. This cute little set comes complete with a toothbrush, a comb and a tiny little mirror, all kept together in a neat travel case. Plus I have loved Hello Kitty since I was a little girl so this for me is something much more fun than a regular travel toothbrush.

Flamingo Candle in Asian Pear & Plum £9.60

This is the infamous candle I was originally looking for. Fresh and floral, Asian Plum & Pear is a blend of orange and tangerine enhanced by fruits including apple, pear, pineapple and peach, supported by freesia, rose, jasmine, osmanthus and plum. Totally perfect for a summer’s day! The glass jar is gorgeous, and has the signature flamingo icon on the front. The candle itself is a gorgeous minty green colour and is handpoured and made in the UK. It burns for up to 50 hours and I cannot wait to try more of the fragrances, as this one is heavenly.

Owl Hand Cream £5.59

owl closed

Hand cream is a beauty bloggers essential, but they can look and feel a little boring after a while. This super cute pink owl contains a gorgeous wild rose fragranced hand cream and is great for sitting on your bedside table or on your desk in the office. This hand cream comes in other colours too and would make a perfect gift.

Gorjuss We Can All Shine Coaster £2.39

Another character I love is the Gorjuss character, I have quite a collection of their range now and I thought that this pretty piece of art would be fab for popping on my bedside table. I always have a drink at the side of my bed, but with my cat Daisy roaming around I like to ensure I have a coaster to hand.

Ted Baker Sugar Sweet Notebook £8.79

This ‘Sugar Sweet’ design is one of my absolute favourite Ted Baker designs – I have the matching bag and iphone case. I adore the mint green and pastel colours, they are so so pretty. This notebook is another bloggers’ essential, as I have to keep so many lists and contact details in order to stay super-organised. It is A5 size and definitely a luxury take on a notebook.

Rabbit Night Light £4.79

I love having candles in my room, as I love the glow they give, but I am terrible for dropping asleep at the drop of a hat and so I tend to buy nightlights to create the same effect. This adorable rabbit LED night light looks so cute sat on my bedside table and even comes complete with batteries. There is also a baby bunny night light available too for little ones.

Bomb Cosmetics Large Pink Set £6.39

bomb

I have tried countless other Bomb Cosmetics products and they are definitely one of my favourite brands. This set is fantastic value and includes 4 full-sized products all with a gorgeous pink theme.

* Moby Wave Soap

* Fresh Berry Bath Blaster

* Strawberries & Dreams Brulee Bath Melt

* Jack the Rippler Soap

They smell absolutely divine and the handmade soaps last for ages. The bath blaster and bath melt left my skin feeling luxuriously soft as they contain essential oils, which too smell amazing.

A perfect pick-me-up!

Get Ready With Me: Night Out

As the new year begins, everyone has two problems:

1) Present purchases, Christmas and New Year celebrations have completely cleared out your bank account. Like completely. You’re completely skint and raiding the piggy bank to buy yourself a Freddo to make life seem better (which by the way, used to be 10p. What happened to the world?!)

20140121-223815.jpg

2) EVERYONE is on a health kick- including me! The gym is rammed every time you go, the exercise classes have so many people in you’re surprised you haven’t gained a black eye from someone getting slightly TOO into the new Zumba routine and you open the fridge and sigh with disappointment when you prepare what feels like your 1526th salad of the month. Not only that, but everyone seems to have become Dryathletes, and, although the idea of raising money for charity by taking part in Dry January is brilliant, no one wants to play out anymore!
I even bought some new trainers last week! (I know, sexy right?)

20140121-223837.jpg

And for those who know me well, I’m never one to turn down a night out with the girls!

So, in light of this, I’ve decided to do a night out feature of all the products I love for your perfect party night. Because, you know, it’s good to be optimistic of all the nights out February is going to bring! I have my friend Stacey’s birthday night out on the 1st, then I’m heading up to Newcastle for my friends Laura and LC’s birthdays, then of course, it’s Kathryn’s 30th weekends in Butlins to prepare for!

Oh and be prepared, this may be pretty long! Perfection takes time, right?

Bath Time

I always love to have a bath if I have a while to get ready, as it leaves your skin feeling soft and ready for prep! It also leaves you feeling relaxed and ready for a late one.

I love quite a lot of different music, so usually let my phone or iPad play on shuffle whilst in the bath. Obviously, a favourite is still One Direction’s album Midnight Memories, but to get ready for a night out I love listening to dance and house music which have been holiday songs from the summer that remind you of having a great time!

I also like to burn some candles whilst in the bath, and as you can see, I’ve got a cute selection going on at the minute:

20140121-223553.jpg

I love the Faith In Nature bubble baths which I blogged about a couple of days ago. They have the most amazing scents and leave my skin feeling lovely and soft! My favourite for before a night out is the Grapefruit and Orange, which is really zingy and refreshing!

20140121-224903.jpg

To wash my hair, it depends on what products I’m using at the time. I have dyed hair which I use a lot of heat on, so I don’t like to wash it every day to avoid further damage. I love Herbal Essences shampoos, as each scent reminds me of certain times in my life, but at the minute I’m using Paul Mitchell products which are expensive, but leave my hair feeling gorgeous!

20140121-225147.jpg

Next, to get the perfect skin for fake tan, I exfoliate using one of my two favourite Soap and Glory exfoliators; Scrub Of Your Life and Flake Away. Both of these products smell divine and leave my skin feeling utterly gorgeous and smooth!

20140121-225452.jpg

Another ‘in shower’ product which I really like at the moment is Nivea In Shower Moisturiser. You’ve probably read quite a lot a out this product before, but it is the lazy girls solution to moisturising and I often use it in a morning when the whole moisturising routine flew out of the window when you hit the snooze button for the 17th time. It’s really cheap but effective and I use it all the time, even when I AM planning to moisturise properly!

20140121-225753.jpg

Prep Time

First up, I cleanse my face properly just to ensure its completely prepped for make up!

I’m using two different cleansers at the moment, one from a brand called Amie and one called Organic Surge which came in a Betrousse Box that we were sent.

Each have different consistencies, with Amie being creamier and Organic Surge being more watery, but both leave my face feeling squeaky clean and ready for moisturiser!

20140121-230622.jpg

20140121-230538.jpg

To moisturise my face, I like to use a different cream than the rest of my body, as the skin is much more sensitive and libel to damage.

Another product received in the Betrousse Beauty Box was a Helenere 24 hour cream, which is in a minute size that is easy to carry around or take on your travels. The consistency of this product is brilliant and a little bit goes a long way, so it lasts for ages!

20140121-230935.jpg

Even after using the Nivea product in the shower, if I’m going to fake tan then moisturiser is a must! At the minute I really love more Soap and Glory products- particularly the Righteous Butter, which again smells gorgeous and leave my skin feeling brand new. I also like to use it when I’m still slightly damp as it locks on the moisture of your skin!

20140121-230207.jpg

For a real pamper session, hair removal is also vital, not only to your body but to your eyebrows.

I’ve been using a product which I was slightly dubious about but it’s a really quick and easy way to get perfect brows and that’s the Nair Face and Eyebrow Wax Roll On.

I thought I’d end up with odd shaped eyebrows, but this is great to get rid of all the unwanted strays and a lot easier than tweezing, which I am rubbish at. The roll on applicator glides smoothly on the skin after it has been sat in boiled water for a couple of minutes. Obviously, waxing is pretty painful but this one wasn’t too bad at all (and my pain threshold is horrendous) and it doesn’t leave unsightly red marks which is extremely handy! Just ensure you do a patch test first!

20140121-231531.jpg

Now for tanning. I love a variety of different tanning products and use different brands for different occasions. At the moment I love the St Tropez Instant Tan which was featured on The Kats Paws last week, and am also loving another well known brand- Fake Bake.

This tan is more of an instant body glow than a full on fake tan, and is perfect for this time of the year where you want exactly that- just a slight glow.

The pigmentation is gorgeous and shimmery, and the consistency is thin and body lotion like, making it extremely easy to apply.

I still use a mitt for this, just to get a more professional and even finish, and it washes off easily the next day.

20140121-231917.jpg

Hair

I’m not a huge fan of putting loads of products on my hair as it weighs down easily, so finding the right balance is needed for volume and long lasting style.

Firstly, I’m still absolutely in love with my Neal and Wolf Silk balm. I have honestly never used a product like this before, which works miracles on my unruly mane. I couldn’t live without it, as you can see from our blog post a couple of months ago now!

20140121-232159.jpg

And secondly, after styling I’ve discovered a brilliant spray for added volume, courtesy of my Boots Advent Calendar.

The Umberto Gianni Glam Hair Backcomb in a Bottle has been in my handbag ever since I opened the little card door, as it’s such an easy product to use when your hair is looking flat. You also don’t need to damage your hair backcombing- this does the job for you!

20140121-232604.jpg

Nails

I can never decide what colour nails I want until I’ve decided on an outfit, so what I choose always depends on that. Therefore I’m going to give a few examples of products I’ve used recently.

If it’s a big night out, I often like to use false nails as I have the horrible habit of biting mine.

A quick and easy solution are the Elegant Touch range, as they are so easy to apply with adhesive tabs rather than glue. You can literally press them on and go. Over Christmas I LOVED these Glitter nails in Tickled Pink, as the sparkle made them festive whilst the dusky pink kept them girly.

These ones are in the length Short, which I found to last longer as you’re less likely to catch them and knock them off like some of the longer fake nails you can buy.

These would look great with a little black dress to inject a bit of colour!

20140121-233147.jpg

Another, slightly wackier Elegant Touch product are these Polka-Dot It nails from the House Of Holland range. I love these are they’re something completely different to what I would usually wear, and add texture as well as monochrome colour to your nails.

Again, these are easy to apply but slightly more fiddly as you have to use Nail Glue. I do however feel that nail glued falsies last a lot longer than those with adhesive tabs, so you don’t have to worry about losing one half way through the night!

20140121-233506.jpg

If you just want to stick with painting your nails, my favourite brand is Nails Inc. The nail varnishes are so easy to apply and have no gloopiness about them, so look a lot neater than many other brands. A favourite of mine at the moment is Portobello, which is a neon coral shade that injects that little touch of summer into an outfit. Kat bought me this shade for Christmas and it will be a firm fave for a long time to come!

20140121-233818.jpg

To quickly mop up any mistakes, I also love the new Bourjois magic nail polish remover, which is a little pot that you dip your finger in, turn a couple of times and Voila it’s like nail varnish was never even applied!

I got mine just before Christmas when Boota had a Bourjois offer on, so also got a lipstick which I haven’t stopped wearing and a little round pot blusher, which is a classic product that is always reliable!

20140121-234142.jpg

And finally… MAKE UP

I’m not going to go into too much make-up related reviewing, as I’ve featured a lot of my favourite products on our Twitter and blog posts recently, but here are a few pictures and I’ll make a list of my go to products to wear for a night out underneath!

20140121-234349.jpg

20140121-234416.jpg

20140121-234441.jpg

And no look is complete without your favourite Eylure or Kiss false eyelashes!

Now, to choose your tipple of choice and party the night away!

I personally like a glass of Pinot Grigio or a vodka, lemonade and lime, but we were recently sent a whiskey sample from Drambuie, which our friend and colleague Josh Oldridge tried out for us!

“Usually when drinking whisky I have to mentally prepare for each sip and my jaw tenses as I gulp. But this is a game changer.

It’s strong but very smooth. It has a sweet scent but the taste is not overbearing. The touch of honey levels the bitterness which, as well as saving my jaw from locking, creates an intruiging tang with further hints of aniseed and even perhaps orange. Smooth and very drinkable, a lovely tipple.”

20140122-075647.jpg

A quick spritz of your favourite perfume (mines Marc Jacobs Daisy, which will be featured in our Fragrance Direct haul very soon!) and you’re ready to go!

20140122-001220.jpg

Happy partying everyone, and have a drink for me!

Love, Emily xxx

Christmas Stocking Fillers

20131129-224356.jpg

I personally am SO glad its that festive time of year. Much to my colleague’s annoyance, I have already been belting out Let It Snow and Jingle Bells, organising the Christmas work lunch, and also organising my work to take part in National Christmas Jumper Day, which is on Friday 13th December in aid of Save The Children.

This post is to give you some ideas for gifts this year. There are SO many sales on already, and such a choice of things to buy its making my head spin! So, here they are, some of our favourites…

Below, we have…

1: Anatomicals Face Masks – This pack is a set of three, in fun bright comical packaging, and at only £3 per pack, they are great to give the friend who’s definitely going to be suffering from a hang over on Christmas Day.

2: Manuka Doctor Rejuvenating Face Mask – Christmas is a very stressful time of year and there’s nothing better than layering on a luxurious face mask, laying in a hot bubble bath with a glass of wine. Heaven is cheap at £29.99 for 50ml.

3: Yankee Candles Samplers – £1.75 each. Surely EVERYONE loves Yankee Candles, and they come in such a variety of fragrances. I love to get the samplers as then I can try them all and decide which are my favourites. I have opted for seasonal fragrances – Sugared Apple, Home Sweet Home and Apple & Pine Needle.

4: Faith In Nature Skin Care Minis Pack – One of the things that suffers the most in winter is our skin, and this nifty little set (£12.99) includes a hand cream, an intensive moisturising cream and a replenishing moisturising cream, packaged in a fresh green gift bag.

5: Naisture Collagen Mask – These come in packs of 5 for £10 and are soooooooo refreshing and really give your skin a boost. perfect gift for teenage girls or stressed out Mums!

Image

Next up we have a few party prep essentials…

1: Kiss Everlash MD Serum – I shall be doing a review on this soon. It is an innovative blend of peptides, nucleotides and vitamins to help lashes appear longer and healthier.

2: Barry M Glamour Puss Eye Shadow & Blush Palette – For only £6.49 you get seven sparkly eyeshadows, a gorgeous pink blusher and two double ended sponge applicators.

3: Primark Pink Hairbrush – At only £1, this is a must for every girl’s stocking. Gently tease it through the roots of your hair to give it an instant boost. Or carry on until you resemble Cher. Either or.

4: Paul Mitchell You Look Skinny Today Gift Set – If it’s multi-coloured and sparkly, it’s already won me over, but this gift looks amazing and is very practical too. Inside you receive a full size shampoo, conditioner and serum. £28 per set.

Image

Nails and eyelashes are BIG business all year round, and so for this time of year, let’s go a little more sparkly, a little more daring and a whole lotta sexy….

1: Kiss Peacock Feather Nail Wraps – At £2.99 per pack, these are definitely a cheaper, but no less effective method than going to a salon and spending £30 on having Minx done.

2: Elegant Touch Purple Glitter Press On Nails – The glitter density on these nails is without doubt the best I have seen on press on nails before, it has different shades of lilacs, pinks and purples in to give it a 3D effect. £7.10 per pack.

3: imPRESS Stick On Nails – These require no glue, and have pre-glued sticky patches on, which all you need to do is peel the thin layer off, press on and off you go! Perfect for those last minute parties. I chose Over the Moon (£8.99) which is a pink and purple leopard effect.

4: House Of Holland Press On Nails in Polka Dot It – House of Holland’s nail range is definitely not for shy girls, its for girls who like it loud and proud. These amazing monochrome nails have 3D acrylic dots on them to give that ultimate wow factor. £9 per pack, and these are available in so much funky designs and patterns, definitely worth a look.

5: Kiss Haute Couture Double Pack Lashes – At a bargain price of £8.99 for a pack of TWO, not just ONE, TWO, these lashes are for those looking for a sexy, sultry effect. Wear these and you will definitely be puckering up under the mistletoe.

6: Elegant Touch Little Mix Perrie Press On Nails – Amongst young girls, Little Mix are big news! They have collaborated with Elegant Touch and each girl has brought out nails in her favourite design. I chose Perrie (maybe cos I think that if I have nails like her, I might also get engaged to a member of One Direction) and her design is a blue, purple, green glittered, starry, galaxy, night sky effect. Basically I cannot sum the actual design up, but however you want to describe the, they’re definitely glitzy. (£6)

7: Elegant Touch Envy Wraps Bling – As mentioned previously, nail wraps are so much cheaper to do in the comfort of your own home, and at £5 these are no exception. You do not need to be a nail technician to be able to apply these kinds of products you simply clean the base of the nail, ensure that it is dry, and rub over the wrap until it is nice and secure on your nail. As an extra tip, I find they are easier to work with if you heat each one up with a blast of the hairdryer before hand.

Gifts for the teens, or those young at heart (Emily 🙂 )

1: Handmade Gingerbread Family – My friend Amy Kershaw handmade these and I think they are just the cutest! Mummy Gingerbread with her apron on, Daddy Gingerbread with his bowtie on and Baby Gingerbread with a cute heart. I often think handmade gifts can be so much better than store bought gifts as you know someone has spent their own time and effort into making you something.

2: One Direction Book – This is the latest book from the boys. Myself and Emily change our minds every week on who is our favourite. At work we got Emily a One Direction mug as one of her birthday presents and I’m pretty sure that every couple of days it has turned round to a different boy. Anyway, you can snap this up for just £7 and young girls, and older ones will love flicking through the stunning pictures and learning more about this boy band phenomenon.
(Note from Emily: just to inform you, it’s Liam all the way at the minute! When did he get so hot?!)

3: Lipsmacker Lip Balm – My love affair with Lipsmacker started when I first went to Florida in 1999. They were in all the drugstores over there and came in a variety of flavours, themes and colours. The latest theme they have produced is a Disney theme – who doesn’t love Disney right? This particular Lipsmacker has Daisy Duck on and has a pretty sweet smell. Lipsmackers are great lip balms, and as well as looking pretty and smelling pretty, they leave lips soft and protected. Again, a perfect cheaper priced stocking filler.

4: Anatomicals Snog Me Senseless Mints – This super cute tin of mints will keep your breath fresh for when that mistletoe is lurking around, or in my case on the top of my head boppers ready to pounce into action at any time. A cute, fun and well priced gift at just £1.55.

5: booRah Purple Watch – We had this sent for my Goddaughter Willow to try out. She has been nattering on for ages that she would like a watch, and luckily purple is one of her favourite colours too. This watch is priced at £20 and is available in a range of boy and girl friendly colours. It comes in its own special case and the sizing is great as it will fit a tiny wrist and will still fit as the child grows, with a generous fit.

Image

Ready-Made Gift Bags are great for those last minute presents, or for keeping stock of in case you get that dreaded moment when someone brings you a present and you didn’t realise you were exchanging gifts…

1: L’Occitane My Little Spa – At £18 this isn’t the cheapest of miniature sets but L’Occitane is a very well known brand in the skincare world and for a little bit of luxury this is perfect. This kit includes, Aroma Repairing Shampoo 75ml, Aroma Repairing Conditioner 75ml, Lavender Foaming Bath 100ml, Lavender Fizzy Bath Pebble 50g, Shea Butter Hand Cream 10ml and Shea Butter Foot Cream, all presented in a pretty waterproof cosmetic bag. Perfect for those who travel a lot, or for introducing someone to the brand.

2: Dove Cherish Gift Set – This gift set is priced lower than the L’Occitane one at just £6, but Dove is also a brand that everyone recognises for softness and reliability. Included in this set is, Go Fresh Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena Anti-Perspirant 35ml, Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Wash in Shea Butter with Warm Vanilla 55ml, Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Lotion in Shea Butter with Warm Vanilla 50ml and a shower lily, all encased in a shimmering gold and cream make up bag. If you hurry, the Dove gift sets are 3 for 2 in many supermarkets and chemists at the moment.

Getting Ready To Party….Gifts for ourselves perhaps – just in time to look your best for those glam Christmas parties.

1: Nails Inc Nail Polish – The shade name is The Boltons and to be honest I don’t have a clue why….Anyhoo, it is a deep, rich, metallic red, very festive and perfect for this time of year. It can be worn alone or with a glitter top coat. I am definitely going to give this a whirl with the Nails Inc Snowflake top coat. I think this look will match my outfit for National Christmas Jumper Day really well. Nails Inc polishes are a little more than average priced at £11, but the effects and longevity are definitely worth it.

2: Fake Bake Tinted Body Glow – Surely no one wants a tangerine glow at this time of year, and so Fake Bake have produced this tinted body glow, which gives a healthy looking sheen to the skin, and is perfect for last minute applications. At £6, this luxury branded product is well worth the dosh.

3: Fake Bake Face Polish – As mentioned previously, this harsh cold weather really takes its toll on our skin and this product works as a great exfoliator to remove dead skin cells, leaving the way for the new skin cells to grow. Which, in turn will leave you with a healthy glow, rather than a red nosed, red cheeked flushed mess. (£8)

4: Body Shop The Sparkler – This is such a pretty product for any bedroom, with it’s vintage style bottle. The colour I chose is Boudoir Pink, a pale pink (obviously) silvery shimmer. This can be used all over, wherever you want an added bit of glitz and glamour, or literally all over if you would like to resemble a disco ball. Some shimmer and glitter powders rarely stay on the skin, but this one really lasts the night. A little pricey at £15, but as with most glitters/shimmers, a little goes a long way.

5: St Tropez instant Tan – Another last minute self tanning product, and again with a reliable, well known name. St Tropez has been around for years and has continued to be one of the top selling self tanning agents around. You can’t argue with popularity and longevity. If it’s good enough for Victoria Beckham, then layer it on me! £10 a tube.

6: Lipcote – This is THE original lip sealer, your mum probably had one of these, and probably your nanna too. It is one of THE British beauty classics and with over 100 uses per bottle at £3.69, it is an extremely tiny amount of cost per use. (Sorry, it is late and I am not working that one out without the use of a calculator). Keep your lips looking kissable with this lipstick sealer which gives staying power, even when the rest of you was ready for home about an hour ago.
