The Me-Time Tag

I have found another one of these Tag posts and I really enjoy doing them as it helps my lovely followers to learn more about me and I also love reading them on others’ blogs. Me-time is really important to me, as I have spent so much time on my own most of my life, being an only-child and losing my Mum at 17. Therefore I am used to having my own space and now living with my boyfriend James, I like to make sure I have a little me-time so that I don’t have a freak-out every now and then haha!

  1. What do you like to watch or read during me-time?

With regards to films, I love girly films like The Princess Diaries, Cinderella, Clueless and then the Eighties Tom Cruise film Cocktail. Basically just films that remind me of when I was younger, they always seem to cheer me up. Book-wise I do read quite a lot anyway, and so it is usually just whichever book I am currently reading, it tends to be chick lit.

  1. What do you wear during me-time?
Pyjamas all the way! If I am feeling cold, it will be pyjamas, slippers, and a cardigan or hoody, all topped off with a blanket or throw which I then tend to drag along with me to the kitchen in search of snacks.
  2. What are your favourite me-time beauty products?
I run myself a lovely hot bath, pop a bath bomb or melt in there, tie my hair back and just soak until the water runs cold, although I then do fill it up with more hot water – just don’t tell my boyfriend James that haha! (He says I have too many baths/use too much water as it is!) I tend to take more care with my skin during me-time and so I will get my Magnitone out, and give me skin a good scrub, and use my Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed face mask, which is really warming on the skin.
  3. Current favourite nail polish?

Hmmmmmm I don’t paint my nails have as much as I would love to, and at the moment I like pastel colours, even though it is winter now! But I do have a lovely mustard-coloured Barry M Gelly nail polish.

  1. What do you eat or drink during me-time?

Anything I can find! I do like to whip myself up a hot chocolate, with squirty cream and marshmallows though and I will probably eat more sweet things than savoury during me-time as it is often when I am surfing the crimson wave.

  1. Current favourite candle?

I got a Stoneglow Winter candle from Love Aroma and it smells soooo amazing. It is such a Christmassy scent and it looks pretty too as it has the appearance of snow, with lots of sparkly glitter on the top.

  1. Do you ever have outdoor me-time?

Basically NO hahaha. Certainly not in Winter anyway, I hate the cold weather!

  1. Would you ever go and watch a film alone?

No, films don’t bother me that much anyway, and we do watch quite a lot of films at home as James is a bit of a film buff! I think the cinema is so expensive nowadays and so if I was to go it would be as a trip out with James or a friend.

  1. Favourite online shop?
At the moment I love browsing as there are so many great offers at this time of the year and I cannot wait until this weekend as there will be lots of Black Friday offers – bank card at the ready! I am hoping to get the Jack Wills duffel bag set and the Best of Benefit set in particular.
  2. Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?

I love a little snooze, my Dad used to call my horizontal Annie as I just tend to relax a lot of the time, well as much as possible. I will catch up on Twitter and Facebook, play my mindless games on my iPhone, flick through magazines and have cuddles with my kitten Millie.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my answers! If you want to also do the tag just copy & paste the questions below to your own blog.

New Drink Releases

I thought I would do a post that wasn’t beauty or gift orientated as I didn’t want to bore you gorgeous girlies too much with the same kinds of posts. Therefore I wanted to introduce to you my two favourite new drinks – Lucozade Cloudy Lemonade and Ribena Mango & Lime.

I have been feeling a little under the weather recently and Lucozade always perks me up a treat, without giving me that Red-Bull buzzzzzzzz, which I hate! Their latest flavour is Cloudy Lemonade, which I love regardless, so this was an extra bonus for me… It has that genuine traditional cloudy lemonade flavour to it and as I was at home, I popped it in a glass with some ice which was gorgeous!

My second new fave beverage is the Ribena Mango & Lime which is one of other favourite drink brands anyway and so I always like trying their new flavours to spice things up a bit.

This flavour I found really refreshing and as the mixture is quite strong, I found that I only needed to add a little of the cordial to water and so this large bottle has lasted me quite a long time. I love drinking low and no added sugar juice drinks at work as they keep me hydrated and it is much nicer than drinking water all of the time.

Here is a little recipe for you to make a Mango & Lime Mock-ito;

200ml ginger beer
1 bunch of mint
25ml undiluted Ribena Mango & Lime Squash
Juice of half a lime
1 sprig of mint to garnish

Simply add the mint, lime and squash to a cocktail glass, muddle the mint leaves, add crushed ice and give another muddle and finish off my topping with ginger beer. YUM!

Will you try either of these tasty new drinks? Let me know in the comments below!

Both Ribena and Lucozade are available from a wide variety of convenience stores and supermarkets.

Kat’s Cats…

I wanted to do a little post about my cats, I know it isn’t beauty or food related but I like to include other things in my blog from time-to-time to mix things up a little.

I must admit I was never really a cat fan in all honesty – until my friend got a kitten and it was sooooooo cute! At home, Dad had started staying at his friends and I felt a bit lonely to be honest and so Dad agreed to letting me get a kitten. I looked on the local RSPCA website and they had some kittens up for adoption and so we went through and chose little Daisy-May. She was gorgeous and I fell in love with her as soon as we brought her home. Daisy is now 7 and we treat her like she’s an actual child rather than a cat, both my Dad and I totally spoil her, and as I recently moved to Lincolnshire to live with my boyfriend James, I miss her terribly. Although I do try to go home twice a month and so when I do go home, Daisy loves it and spends her time laying on me so I can’t move. I decided not to move Daisy to Lincolnshire from Yorkshire as I really didn’t think it was fair to her after 7 years of living in the same house and leaving my Dad and so Daisy stays at home in Yorkshire with my Dad, who loves her to pieces.

As mentioned I have moved to Lincolnshire and I miss Daisy like crazy, and so recently James suggested we get a kitten – I didn’t leave him chance to change his mind and we chose Millie-May. I wanted to call her Ruby but James hates the name so we settled on Millie and I added the May but so she is like her big sister Daisy-May. Millie is three months old and super cute, (Daisy is and will always be my number one but Millie is definitely my number 1a haha), and loves playing with her toys, eating and sleeping – we are definitely quite alike! Her current favourite toys are a little laser pen ( which is also one of Daisy’s favourite toys, although we try not to let either Daisy or Millie play with them too long as it sends them both a bit wappy after a while! Millie also loves some little glittery tennis balls ( we got from (where we also got the laser pen) but I think Daisy is past the stage of playing with jingly balls now, but she does love the laser pen.

With regards to food, Millie loves Whiskas Kitten food and James buys her the kitten milk as a treat but she will practically eat anything, she is certainly not fussy, whereas Daisy has a more refined taste and loves tins of tuna and slices of butcher’s ham! She has also been trying some other kinds of food which we also got from which are Canagan Dry Cat Food (, Almo Nature Cat Pouches ( and for a treat we give her Nature’s Menu Cat Treats ( The Almo and Canagan food are fab for giving cats everything they need nutrionally and Daisy loves this food, she never leaves a single morsal, which is good as then we know she will keep healthy inside and out.

With regards to treats, you simply have to slightly rattle a bag or tub of treats and Daisy comes running, and she absolutely loves the Nature’s Menu treats, but we only give her them in moderation as although they are healthy treats, they are still treats. Millie on the other hand has yet to learn the sounds of the treat bags and boxes and doesn’t have a clue until you pop one under her nose.

I love love love cats and Daisy has been there for me when I have been sad, upset, happy or angry and even though I don’t live with her anymore she still has my heart, and as for Millie I can’t wait to take her on her journey of becoming a full-sized cat.

Do you have a cat or are you a dog person?

Willow’s Graze Box

FullSizeRender-46I recently reviewed my latest Graze Box and when visiting the Graze website I discovered they did Goody Boxes for children, and thought my 5 year old Goddaughter Willow would love this. I placed an order, and popped her name along with it. The box arrived a couple of days later, emblazoned with her name across the front.

Inside the box there was a snakes & ladders game on the inside of the lid, a cardboard Scarecrow cut-out scene and four of the Graze treat boxes. Willow received the following boxes;

Bannoffee Dippers – This includes a toffee dipping sauce and three little wholegrain banana shortbread biscuits. Willow really enjoyed this box as she liked to dip her biscuits into the dip.

Mr Cheesy’s Garlic Bread – This box contained garlic crostini and cheese flavoured cashews. Willow hadn’t really tried cashews before and she did keep offering them to me to try as I think she was a little nervous at trying something new.

Berry-Apple Smoothie – This contains pieces of dried apple and strawberry drops. Willow loves her fruit and this was a fun way to try dried fruit. She said she particularly enjoyed the strawberry drops!

Say Cheese – This treat includes mini tomato breadstick and cheese croutons. I think this box was far too similar to the Mr Cheesy’s box given the large range of products Graze produce. Willow enjoyed it but I definitely would have liked to have seen more of a variety.

Overall this is definitely a great idea for kids and I would definitely get Willow another one as she enjoyed picking the treats instead of eating unhealthier nibbles. The only thing I would advise is to be careful when ordering and choosing as some of the boxes with nuts in may not be suitable for younger children. Willow really enjoyed playing Snakes & Ladders and building the Scarecrow though, which I thought was a great little added touch.

Graze Box and A Happy One Year Anniversary To Us!

I am not sure whether we marked our one year anniversary on the blog, but we did announce it on Twitter and so I thought I would do a more recent review on the product that we first ever reviewed here at The Kats Paws – The Graze Box.

I am sure by now so many of you will have heard of the Graze boxes, but for those of you who don’t, Graze box is a weekly, fortnightly or however often you would like them box of really healthy and nutritious, but still sooooo tasty treats that gets delivered to you through your letterbox. They have such a huge amount of different kinds of healthy treats, and for those of you who are fussy (Me, Me, Me!!!!) you can pick and choose, and opt to ‘try’ foods you might want to give a go.

So, here was what was sent to me in my Graze box last week;

Honeycomb Flapjack – This has been one of my favourite Graze box treats since they first brought the flapjack range out. I absolutely adore flapjack, the scent reminds me of being a little girl, when my Nanna used to make batches and batches of it and I used to nibble it before it even had a chance to cool down. The sprinkle of chocolate on this flapjack makes it feel like even more of a treat and I would definitely tick this one as a ‘Send Soon’ item! Delicious!

Herby Bread Basket – This is such a cute savoury snack pack! You get mini basil breadsticks (which totally look like mini baguettes – super adorable), garlic crostini and oregano rice crackers. The garlic crostini was really good as you could taste the garlic, but not overpoweringly so that you stunk the workplace out everytime you spoke. I had never tried oregano rice crackers before, and as I am not too adventurous I wasn’t sure if I would like them, but I so did, the flavour was spot on and the texture was light yet crispy. I would definitely tick ‘Love’ for this box.

Peanut Butter Pretzel – This was a really good example of sweet and savoury combined – you get some naturally good peanut butter and some scrumptious pretzel sticks to dunk in, and not the skinny sticks that break easily, nope these ones are chunky and perfect for dipping. I really liked the peanut butter and it tasted sweet without being artificially sweet. This was the first time I had tried this packet and again I would totally get this again.

Nature’s Immunity Nuts – This box probably looked the least exciting, but after all those treats, I suppose I do need a bit of extra goodness and this packet had some of my favourite nuts in. It includes roasted unsalted cashews, brazil nuts and raw pistachio kernels. I love nuts but it is only healthy for you if you eat them in moderation, and they are super expensive for really good quality nuts, but Graze allows you to have a little bit of what you fancy and what does you good for just £3.99 delivered. Most companies these days charge around £4 just for delivery and so I really think Graze have done a fab job, both quality and price wise.

Fancy trying Graze out? You can check out the range at and you can also get your 1st, 5th and 10th box free if you use the code 452WY4LTB

Have you tried Graze before? If so, what are your favourite treats and recommendations?

Hair Dessert Hair Accessories

i recently got a new job with the NHS, and after my first day, my manager told me that the interview panel was in awe of my hair bow, which was something I had not really given any thought to. I love and have always loved hair accessories, they can add so much to an outfit and I have such a wide array. I probably own more hair accessories than I do fashion jewellery and when I came across Hair Desserts I became VERY excited.

“Hair Dessert was created in 2013 because we felt there was a void in the hair accessory industry. We wanted to create hair accessories that were not just hair accessories we wanted something more special so hair desserts seemed like it fit the bill. Hair dessert is exactly what the name says ‘dessert for your hair.’ Your mouth gets spoiled with all the treats so now it’s your hairs turn. Our tastebuds always gets satisfied and our hair deserves a dessert too. Hair gets abused all the time we fry it, pull it, dye it, and then torture it some more. It’s time to give you hair what it’s always wanted. Give into dessert and feel happy about it! Spice up any outfit with one of our hair accessories, you can dress them up or down and they are great for all occasions. We make hair accessories that are playful, cute, kawaii, motivational, and whimsical. Hair desserts are not limited to food hair accessories we just call them hair dessert because they are treats for your hair. Check out the ‘Hair Dessert of the Season’ for the limited edition seasonal piece which is available in limited quantities only for that particular season (Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter).”

They come in either clips or on hair bobbles and I tried both, as I do wear my hair up quite a lot, especially for work as I hate having my hair in my face. For the hair bobble I chose the Pretty Pink Heart design as I thought this would go with the majority of my outfits and for the hair clips I chose the super cute Poppin Strawberry Sprinkle Ice Cream Cone and the Vanilla Sprinkle Cupcake. They come with their very own ‘menu’ on which you can view the other designs and ways to wear the accessories and when I took them out of the very cute bright pink envelope I was so impressed with the quality of the clips! They are so beautifully made and the quality is outstanding, much better than hair clips I have bought before in high street stores. The actual ‘clip’ part that holds your hair in place worked really well too and didn’t slip down even when I was holding a little bit of my fringe back. I cannot wait to try some of next season’s designs!

Their website is and each clip or bobble costs just $8 which is currently less than £5 each which certainly doesn’t justify how fabulous these clips are! Shipping was really good too!

boomf Magical Mallows

Finding a gift for someone that they don’t already have is such a nightmare these days! boomf have come up with the genius idea of marshmallows with your photos printed on them! Everyone loves a treat to eat and I think personalised items go down so well as gifts.

You simply go on their website and upload 9 pictures or less if you would like multiples. I chose The Kats Paws logo, a picture of myself (I’m so vain), a picture of me and James and a gorgeous picture of my cutie Goddaughter Willow. I then awaited my delivery.

When the marshmallows arrived they were in a square white box and inside was a copy of the photographs I had chosen, which I am going to frame as it makes a fab picture! The marshmallows are wrapped in cellophane to keep their freshness and each one is a square plain white mallow with one of your chosen pictures on. I couldn’t wait to try one out and the taste certainly didn’t disappoint.

I thought the photograph quality wouldn’t be that great with them being printed onto squishy squashy marshmallows but I was really impressed as the photographs I had used were taken from my iPhone and so they weren’t perfect to start with.

You can choose your own mallows at for just £15 including delivery – who would you put on your boomf marshmallows?
